Candidate care is our point of difference

Posted On June 27, 2022

Candidate care is the term we use to refer to our treatment of our job seekers, before, during and after we support them into employment, both temporary and permanent.

We believe it’s the after-employment support which sets us apart as recruiters in the Manawatu and a point of difference we are proud of.

As recruiters our relationship with our job seekers and our clients does not end when the assignment or job is filled. We invest in the onboarding of new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into their new workplace.

Before employment we support job seekers with guidance and advice for their job search, promoting an applicant for suitable advertised vacancies and/or opportunities direct with our Manawatu clients.

During the recruitment, the recruiter provides the candidate with valuable insight into the background of the employer and specifics of the position, preparing the candidate for their interview. The recruiter will provide personalised feedback based on discussions had with the employer, and follow up throughout the process, to ensure the recruitment is timely and mutually beneficial for both parties.

With temporary work, the employee is engaged on assignment for our client, with the employment agreement and wages managed directly via PN Personnel.

Your recruiter remains your main contact whilst on assignment and will regularly communicate with you to ensure you are comfortable in your temporary role. This allows us to clarify any questions you may have or seek feedback on your behalf.

“I love how Charllotte came in and visited me on my birthday and the weekly/monthly check in calls to see how I was adjusting to the job”. Abby – temporary employee who has since taken on a permanent position.

We consider our temporary employees part of our wider team and treat them as such:

  • We celebrate birthdays
  • We celebrate anniversaries and special occasions
  • We celebrate excellence with our employee of the month award known as the WOW (Won for Outstanding Work) award.  Pictured is Nikita, our fabulous WOW Employee for December.

For some, a temporary assignment is a stepping stone to permanent employment within the company. For others, we appreciate temporary work is bridging the gap, we continue to source, promote and discuss permanent opportunities with our temporary employee.

When we successfully fill a job seeker into a role, we then continue to support our client to ensure a thorough on-boarding and induction process is completed. We also remain engaged with both candidate and employer to ensure a successful transition into the new position.

Your recruiter will call to welcome you to your role in your first week, and continue to check in with you over the first months and year. We love nothing more than celebrating with a cake for a welcome morning tea shout.

“Several years ago I dealt with Christine and recently contacted her again about a new position. She remembered exactly who I was and thought I would be a great fit for the role – and it would be a great fit for me... The whole process couldn’t have been more positive or easy.” Dave, permanent placement.

We value our relationships, welcoming back candidates who re-engage our services when they are ready to make their next career move and candidates who become clients and engage our services to recruit.
