Hours of Work:

• Monday to Friday: 6:00AM to 3:00PM, with a 1-hour lunch break
• Minimal requirements for overtime, but when needed, you'll be financially rewarded for your dedication and hard work

Your Role:

As a key member of our team, you will:

• Operate Equipment & Maintain Records: Accumulate and dispatch barley and malt while keeping accurate, organised records to ensure seamless operations.
• Ensure Safety & Efficiency: Assist in running the Ashburton Storage Facility safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate Barley Supply: Work closely with the Store Supervisor to source barley from South Island suppliers, ensuring a steady, timely supply for malt production.
• Support Seed Generation: Help oversee the seed generation program and prepare seeds for sowing with precision and care.
• Strengthen Relationships: Build lasting connections with suppliers, customers, and colleagues to enhance our reputation and operations.
• Tackle Various Duties: Assist the Store Supervisor with essential tasks to keep everything running smoothly.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Barley Sampling & Analysis: Collect, weigh, analyse, and document barley arrivals with accuracy, adhering to all procedures and standards.
• Material Handling: Follow protocols for unloading, storing, transferring, and out-loading raw materials safely and effectively.
• Seed Management: Assist with receiving, storing, and preparing barley seed for dispatch to suppliers, maintaining precise transaction records.
• Site Maintenance: Keep the facility clean, tidy, and well-organised at all times.
• Safety Commitment: Promote Health & Safety by following all safety rules and conducting yourself professionally.
• Compliance & Record Keeping: Ensure ongoing adherence to Safety, Food Safety, Hygiene, and Environmental systems.
• Supporting Food Safety Projects: Contribute to essential initiatives aimed at enhancing food safety standards.

Skills and Experience:

• Manual car licence required
• Forklift licence would be ideal but not essential
• Computer literate in Outlook, Word and Excel
