Posted On April 19, 2023

Temporary work can be extremely rewarding and lead to new opportunities.

At PN Personnel we treat our temporary staff as part of our wider team of employees. We tailor our approach to ensure our temporaries are given all the information and support to feel comfortable and valued in their temporary work assignment.

Read on to learn about the PN Personnel approach to temporary work and what that means for you.

Register for work:

You may register directly through our website, or apply for a temporary position advertised via our jobs page

We have a formal registration process which involves direct discussions with you to understand your skills and job motivations. This allows us to recommend opportunities that best fit your career aspirations. To ensure you are work ready for if you are looking for an administration based temporary assignment you will complete a skills assessment to confirm your computer skills.

Steps in the Temporary Process

We will ALWAYS discuss a temporary assignment with you before we send your details to our Client.

Step 1 – We discuss the opportunity with you, if you are interested in the temporary assignment, we move to Step 2.

Step 2- We discuss your details with our Client. We promote your skills and abilities as to why you are a good fit for the Client’s role and their business. If our Client is keen to proceed we move to Step 3 or jump to Step 4.

Step 3 – An interview with our Client. Your recruiter will prepare you for this, providing the information you need to know including who you are meeting with, where you are meeting and information about the business and the proposed assignment.

Step 4 –Offer and acceptance of temporary assignment or constructive feedback as to why you were unsuccessful.

Onboarding and induction

In preparation for the role we will provide you with the following:

  • Written confirmation of your assignment including:
  • Start date and duration of assignment
  • Who you report to
  • Location of Client workplace
  • Your role
  • Your Individual Employment Agreement between yourself and PN Personnel

We will confirm payroll information and set you up for our online timesheeting, so it’s easy to submit your hours for your pay each week.

On Assignment

We have a temporary employee care programme to ensure you are happy, safe and settled in your role.

Our induction includes regular communication with you whilst on assignment including visits to you in the workplace. We manage feedback from yourself and our Client to ensure the temporary assignment is providing value to both parties.

We manage any of your queries with regards to leave, pay queries and KiwiSaver.

We love to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and recognise outstanding work with our WOW award each month.

Temporary assignments can range short-term (couple of days), to 6 months or more. Some assignments lead to a permanent job offer.
