The Living Wage
The new Living Wage rate came into effect 1 September 2019.
We value the Living Wage rate here at PN Personnel and have been working with our clients to enable all our temporary staff to be employed at or above the equivalent of the Living Wage hourly rate of $21.15.
The Living Wage is defined as: The income necessary to provide workers and their families with the basic requirements of living.
Each year this rate is reviewed and revised, therefore on 1 September 2019 the Living Wage hourly rate rose to $21.15 from $20.55. Currently the hourly minimum wage sits at $17.70.
As you can see in the graph below we have dropped back to 76% from our goal of 100% for all our temporary staff. We are proud we were able to achieve 96% earlier in the year, and appreciate our clients support in being able to reach this. Yes, we have dropped back, but we will continue to partner with our clients as we strive to move back up towards our goal of 100%.
