Yes Hilary, you can move to Friendly Feilding

Last night, Seven Sharp ran a fantastic piece regarding two families who had recently moved to Feilding.  The reasons are simple: more bang for your buck housing, better quality of life, less commute and less traffic.

The sticking point for the story for me if you watch it all the way to the end is Hilary Barry questions “what would you do” if you move to Fielding? Co-host Jeremy Wells considers becoming a pool boy or kitchen laminator whilst Hilary jokes she is going to be assistant manager at Liquorland. I feel no need to see Jeremy break out his Speedos, nor does he have to, as Hilary mentioned there are hundreds of jobs available in Feilding.

As the newest member of the Palmerston North Personnel team, I have done it myself, moving with my family from a small house in Auckland’s North Shore to a lifestyle block just outside Palmerston North. I found a job in my area of expertise and my family and I enjoy the activities and new environment we live in. My commute used to be over an hour, now it’s 10 minutes. Clients whom have met me already know I often turn up early to my appointments because I have been able to drive without delay to meet with them and do business face to face because we logistically can meet in person.

We’ve got a great place to live, and you can find a great job to go alongside it. Although we don’t have a big TVNZ building nearby therefore Hilary, if you do take that job at Liquorland I’ll make sure I come and see you for a nice bottle of chardonnay for my wife.
