Malteurop NZ manages the whole NZ Malting Barley supply chain, from barley breeding to commercial Malting Barley production and storage. They have long relationships with the dominant brewers of NZ across every brewery in NZ since its arrival in NZ and as the craft market has grown. They also support brewers in the Pacific and to serve specific technical markets in Australia and the South Eastern region of Asia.

About the role

Malteurop NZ are offering an opportunity for a Plant Operator to join their team in Marton. As a preferred candidate you will demonstrate an unwavering commitment to producing a quality product alongside a dedicated team who work hard to get things done. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment and have experience working independently. Some of the duties include:

  • Loading and unloading malt and barley
  • Monitoring equipment and taking records
  • Cleaning
  • Collecting samples
  • Fulfilling customer orders for despatch
  • Liaising with carriers and suppliers
  • Forklift duties along with train container movement

This role requires a highly motivated and physically fit person who enjoys working as part of a team, displays a willingness to learn, has excellent communication skills and is competent in using computers. You will be working on a rotating roster averaging 40 hours a week, predominately between 6:00am - 5:00pm with some early starts and weekend work every 5 weeks, therefore the role requires flexibility in hours worked.
