A family owned Heavy Machinery Rental Business, Hireways Ltd, is in growth mode and is wanting a proven Parts Specialist to establish systems and provide end to end parts management. This diverse role will keep you interested and challenged as you establish a best practice parts department.
Hireways Ltd is a home grown family business that is in growth mode. Manawatu is a hive of roading and construction activity as the construction of roads of national significance, upgrade to transport routes and bridges are being worked on now and in the future. Hireways Ltd is importing more machinery, and it's flying out the door. Hireways Ltd recently upgraded internal IT systems and they are driving positive improvement through the business as they evolve from a Family Business to Corporate Entity.
As part of the planned growth and expansion a new site has been identified for the business to expand into and that includes a dedicated Parts Department.
The business is busy so the machinery is working hard. The customers are used to top quality gear that works - and Hireways Ltd run a busy workshop to keep their gear ready for work.
That's where you come in - you will be a knowledgeable and resourceful Parts Specialist who will provide the right parts, at the right time at the best price for the business.
You'll need to have knowledge and experience across a number of key areas including:
- Auto Electrical
- Oils and Fluids
- Parts diagnosis and sourcing (often globally)
- Parts and Hireage Systems
Significantly - you will need up to date IT and system skills as the business has modern systems, and best practice parts management is an integral part of this local success story. Expect these skills to be tested.
You'll be able to track and report on parts inventory, parts cost and quality, and forward plan to avoid costly parts delays or stockouts. Using web based tools to track the machinery itself and the machinery use will allow proactive parts planning - but you'll also plan for unexpected breakdowns.
This newly created role is designed to succeed by supporting the internal workshop and also growing an external parts supply chain as you'll also supply parts for the company's exclusive brand of imported heavy trucks.
To be successful in this exciting role, you will need to be an excellent communicator to make external customers loyal, building strong networks with willing suppliers, making the workshop more efficient and add increased transparency to the parts operation. You will demonstrate your brilliant communication - face to face, electronically and over the phone and be able to remain cool under pressure as you balance quickly changing priorities.
