Business Development Manager

Exciting position for an experienced business development professional to focus on building an innovative and growing business community.

Promotion of Manawatū’s renowned lifestyle, competitive advantages, and the regions opportunity for investment, business performance and availability of strong talent will be a cornerstone in achieving these ambitious goals. As the Business Development Manager, you will be part of the CEDA leadership team, delivering on our regional economic development strategy.

Key Areas of responsibility as the Business Development Manager:

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will be responsible for the retention and expansion of businesses throughout the region. This will involve engaging with key regional entities, iwi, business leaders and local and central government stakeholders to identify, drive and implement priority sector development plans and work with partner organisations to build a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. Integral to this is the leadership and delivery of the NZTE Regional Business Partner programme, developing business and research and development capability across the wider Manawatū-Whanganui region.

What we are looking for in you:

To be successful here you will need to understand the key drivers in this economy. An orientation towards agri-business, and distribution and logistics sectors will be viewed favourably. Strengths in commercial development, leading teams and people to high performance, relationship building and broad-based economic development strategy exposure will be important experience sets in your resume. The ability to think critically, build alignment, and show a genuine desire to drive the Manawatū region for the benefit of its people needs is crucial here.
