Prepack are on the lookout for a solutions focused Assistant Accountant to support financial operations.
Based in Palmerston North, Prepack are a unique company that specialise in contract packing and international delivery or kits such as rations, emergency supplies and humanitarian support packs.
Reporting to the General Manager - Finance we are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Assistant Accountant to carry out key financial processes and ensure financial information is accurate and on time.
This role is responsible for processing the day-to-day functions including AP/AR, bank reconciliation, month end tasks, as well as weekly/fortnightly payroll. You will be maintaining financial records calculating GST (both NZ and AUS) and assisting in preparing accurate, timely information to management.
A formal accounting qualification is not essential but would be preferred. Experience with financial accounting packages including Excel is needed and Power BI would be an advantage. We are looking for someone that can help with budgets, forecasting and analysis work.
To be successful in the role you will need:
- Experience as an Assistant Accountant or similar role
- Strong analytical skills
- Proven problem solving ability
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Highly organised and able to work to deadlines
- Competent with MS Excel and accounting systems
- Relevant tertiary qualification (an advantage)
