Toyota New Zealand – Warehouse Temporary to Permanent

Toyota New Zealand has a busy modern warehouse and we have been working with Palmerston North Personnel’s Temporary Employees to manage workloads to support our Permanent Employees.

Cushla Brasell has been working with us for years and really knows what we do and only sends me people who will fit in. Cushla knows I want superstars and they have to be superstars to work here. We have a warehouse approximately the size of 4 rugby fields holding inventory with 70,000 part numbers.

After working together for a few years, Cushla and I have the process working well – Cushla makes it seem easy to find good people and we test them all to make sure the accuracy and numeracy is where it needs to be.

The Temporary Employees join our team and are treated as one of the team… and if/when it's appropriate for the business we transition these to permanent roles.

The reason it works well is Cushla understands what we do, why we need what we do and knows us as a team. Cushla has regular visits to our warehouse so there is a real personal touch for the team and I - and the chocolate fish are always welcome. I think it's the personal touch that makes it work so well.
