Enable New Zealand - Urgent 6 Month Project

Enable New Zealand is contracted by the Ministry of Health, ACC and District Health Boards to provide services for people living with disabilities.

In May 2016 we contacted Palmerston North Personnel as we had a workflow peak having secured a new contract.

We urgently needed 6 Customer Service Facilitators for a 6 month fixed-term to work on our Hearing Aid Management Service starting in July.

Our existing Customer Service team were already busy, and to compound things we had a short timeframe to get a strong team up and running. We simply didn’t have the capacity available at that time to drive a full recruitment campaign ourselves.

We were also concerned that the people who were available immediately to commit to a 6 month role “as a job“ may not be the right fit, or as committed as our experienced team (who generally have 5 or more years experience at Enable New Zealand).

We contacted Palmerston North Personnel and Cushla was fantastic. Cushla demonstrated her expertise at attracting and critiquing applicants, managing them through an efficient recruitment process and delivering us a high calibre shortlist for interviews – ultimately allowing us to spend time on other high priority areas.

Enable New Zealand have an employment process that needs to be followed and Cushla made sure this team was efficiently moved through that process – appropriately nudging them when we needed to get everything done on tight timelines.

Cushla presented us with the relevant information we needed to make quick and informed decisions on each person’s suitability - including CV’s, references, the appropriate skills assessments, but more importantly Cushla found the “glue behind the CV that makes great people stick”.

“We interviewed and employed people who are just like our team – they have natural empathy and feel the intrinsic rewards of providing support services for less fortunate people.”

Cushla recruited a customer service focused team for 6 months fixed-term that have the ability, motivation, commitment and “the fit” we look for in permanent employees – I really didn’t expect that!
